UGC NET Online Application Form 2014 |
The UGC NET 2014 June test will be conducted in 95 subjects. Those who have secured at least 55 per cent marks (50 per cent for those belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes and Persons With Disabilities) in their Master’s degree and those who have appeared, or are appearing, for their final year examination can apply. The upper age limit is 28 as on June 1 for the JRF, raised by five years for those belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes and Persons With Disabilities. Three years’ relaxation will be permissible to those with an LL.M. degree. There is no upper age limit for applying for lectureship.
* Candidate seeking admission to the Test (UGC-NET, June,2014) must apply online i.e. www.ugcnetonline.in OR through a link available on the UGC website www.ugc.ac.in. Before applying Online, the candidates must possess the Scanned passport size photograph in JPEG format of less than 300 kb.
* After filling all the details for applying online for NET, the computer will automatically generate your ‘Bank Challan’ indicating your details therein A print out of this Bank Challan may be taken by the candidate for payment through cash, on the next working day (after generating the challan from www.ugcnetonline.in) at any branch of State Bank of India (SBI) alongwith bank charges (commission) of Rs.20/-
* Two days after the payment of fee at SBI through filled Bank Challan, the candidate is required to check the status of fee payment at UGC website www.ugcnetonline.in) and if the status is ‘OK’ the candidate will be able to take the printout of online Application Form (one copy), Attendance Slip (one copy) and Admission Card (one copy) on separate A-4 size papers.
* SC/ST/PWD candidates and candidates belonging to OBC (non-creamy layer) (as per the Central list of OBC available on website : www.ncbc.nic.in must enclose the attested copy of certificate for the same.
How to apply:
Apply online on www.ugcnetonline.in. The printout of the application, one copy of the attendance slip along with bank challan and other required documents must reach the Registrar of the Coordinating University Centre where the candidate has opted to appear for the test . The examination fee is Rs. 450 (Rs. 225 for Other Backward Classes and Rs. 110 for those belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes and Persons With Disabilities). Exam Pattern:
The UGC NET 2014 June test will consist of three papers of objective-type questions and will be held in two separate sessions. The first session covers paper I and II having 100 marks each and time allowed for each paper is 75 minutes. Paper III with 150 marks will have to be completed in 150 minutes.
Paper I shall be of general nature intended to assess the teaching and research aptitude of the candidate, primarily designed to test reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness. Sixty multiple choice questions of two marks each will be given, out of which 50 questions have to be answered. Paper II shall consist of 50 objective-type compulsory questions from the subject selected by the candidate, and each question will carry two marks. Paper III will consist of 75 questions each carrying two marks.
The minimum marks to be obtained is given below: General category: paper I: 40 marks, II: 40, III: 75; Other Backward Classes: 35, 35, 68; and Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes and Persons With Disabilities: 35,35, 60.
